ABOUT ME

Professional photographer in Terni. But above all, a person who loves to tell stories through images.

I’m Luca Marchetti, a professional photographer with a studio in Terni.

Photography has been a part of my life since I was very young: I started taking photos in 1979, when I was just six years old, playing with an reflex. Since then, cameras, technologies, and working methods have changed, but one thing has never changed: the need to convey what I see through an image.

Over the years, photography became first a passion, then a job, and finally a fundamental part of my identity.

Today, I offer this experience to those seeking something more than just photographs: images capable of recounting people, emotions, events, companies, and important moments with a personal and recognizable style.

I don’t simply photograph what happens. I look for what is about to happen.

This is probably the best way to describe my approach to photography.

A good photograph isn’t born solely from technique or the camera. It comes from the ability to observe, anticipate a moment, read a situation, and transform it into an image.

That’s why, when I photograph, I try to be present without being intrusive.

In weddings, it means giving the couple the freedom to live their day without feeling constantly posed.

In a portrait, it means looking for the person beyond the simple image.

In an event, it means being there at the right moment, without missing emotions, details, and situations that often last only a few seconds.

In professional photography, it means understanding what a company wants to communicate and transforming it into images consistent with its identity.

My goal is for a photograph to not only be beautiful to look at, but to have something to say.

From film to digital: experience before technology

I started with analog photography and experienced the transition from film to digital firsthand. At first, I was wary of the new technology. Then I decided to put myself to the test and fully understand what it could offer.

That experience taught me something I still consider fundamental today:

It’s not technology that creates a photograph. It’s the person behind the camera.

The camera is a tool. The difference is made by the gaze, the experience, the sensitivity, and the ability to transform an idea or emotion into an image. This is what I try to bring to every photo shoot.

An experience built on photography, reportage, and creativity

In 2005, I decided to definitively make photography my profession, starting to collaborate with newspapers and photojournalism agencies and, at the same time, creating photo shoots for companies, advertisements, and weddings.

In 2008, I joined the Order of Journalists as a freelance journalist and over the years I have developed extensive experience in photojournalism and sports photography, including coverage of major sporting events and Serie A and Serie B matches.

In 2013, I submitted my work to a professional screening at TAU VISUAL – National Association of Professional Photographers, receiving a score of 52/70.

But for me, photography isn’t just documentation. It’s also research and creativity.

In parallel with my photography career, I have developed an artistic path that has led me to create limited edition photographic works and exhibit in national and international exhibitions. Over the years, I have participated in exhibitions in Rome and the Innsbruck Art Fair, among others. These experiences have helped shape my approach to photography: combining technique, experience, and artistic sensibility.

What can I do for you?

Today, I create photoshoots for a wide variety of needs, always maintaining the same principle: first understand the person or situation before me and then tailor the shoot to their needs.

Among other services, I specialize in:

  • wedding photography, with a natural and narrative approach;
  • portraits and photo books;
  • family and newborn photography;
  • events and shows;
  • sports and reportage photography;
  • advertising and corporate photography;
  • customized photo shoots.

For every service, I try to avoid standardized solutions. Because every person, every company, and every story is different.

If you’re looking for a photographer, let’s get to know each other first.

Choosing a photographer means entrusting them with something. It could be the memory of a wedding, the image to present your business, an important portrait, a unique event, or simply the desire to have photographs that truly resonate with you.

That’s why I prefer to meet with my clients in person.

In my studio in Terni, we can discuss your needs, your ideas, and what you want to achieve from the photo shoot. No obligation, no pre-packaged solutions.

Before being photographed, I want to know what you want to tell.

Then we’ll work together to figure out how to transform it into images.

Have an idea? Let’s talk.

If you’re looking for a photographer in Terni for a wedding, portrait, event, corporate, sports, or advertising shoot, contact me.
